وزارة الموارد البشرية والتنمية الاجتماعية تحقق المركز الثالث على مستوى الجهات الحكومية في جائزة المحتوى المحلي

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development achieved third place in the Local Content Award for the highest-spending government entities, within the government sector track, presented by the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority. The recognition was announced during the ceremony held on Monday, 27 April in recognition of the Ministry’s compliance with excellence standards in meeting local content requirements.

The Local Content Award, in its fourth edition, aims to encourage the public, private, and non-profit sectors, as well as targeted stakeholders, to contribute to the development of local content. It also seeks to increase compliance with its requirements by providing clear evaluation mechanisms for participants, thereby contributing to building a strong and sustainable economy and enhancing national purchasing power.

On this occasion, His Excellency the Assistant Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Shared Services, Mr. Ismail bin Saeed AlGhamdi, stated that the Ministry, in cooperation with the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, has increased its compliance rates with local content requirements. He added that the Ministry’s Local Content Development Committee has activated several tracks, implemented various initiatives, conducted workshops, and launched awareness messages to promote local content development both internally and externally.

AlGhamdi noted that the work team had focused on achieving the Ministry’s targets in strengthening and developing local content, which resulted in securing third place this year. This reflects the Ministry’s continued commitment to achieving its intended objectives and to further enriching local content across all future projects and initiatives.

The Ministry’s participation encompassed several tracks, including the routine operations track, industrial localization and knowledge transfer track, economic participation track, data track, policies and strategies track, privatization projects track, support and empowerment track, target development track, and delegation projects track.

The fourth edition of the award also introduced two dedicated tracks under the non-profit sector category, covering civil society institutions and associations, in recognition of the sector’s role and efforts in promoting economic and social development. The number of applicants in this edition reached 918 across various categories.

The Local Content Award is considered a key enabler for all government and private sectors in enhancing local content in the Kingdom. It aims to increase participation levels and improve the performance of competitors in executing contracts and projects, with the objective of strengthening local capabilities and maximizing the benefits of national purchasing power.
