The National Training Campaign “Waad,” launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, continues its efforts to empower national talent and promote a culture of training through skills and training forums across various provinces of the Kingdom. This is implemented through an integrated model that brings together the public and private sectors to invest in human capital, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Ministry concluded yesterday the activities of the “Waad Al-Baha” Skills and Training Forum, which was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Baha Province, and attended by His Excellency the Vice Minister for Labor, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain, along with a number of Ministry leaders and regional officials.
The forum provided more than 30,000 training opportunities for the male and female residents of Al-Baha Province through 2028, as part of the national training initiative “Waad,” which aims to enhance the skills of national talent in line with current and future labor market requirements. The initiative focused on developing promising skills linked to the province’s economic strengths, with training programs covering pathways in the agricultural sector, including specialized programs for beekeepers, as well as multilingual tourist guiding programs, thereby maximizing the benefits of the province’s comparative advantages in agriculture and tourism.
The forum also featured a diverse accompanying exhibition, through which the Ministry and its partners showcased key national initiatives for skills development, along with informational booths highlighting in-demand skills in the labor market and available training fields. In addition, direct career and training consultations were provided to visitors and students by participating entities.
The forum witnessed notable attendance from the province’s male and female residents, with more than 1,500 visitors benefiting from practical workshops and advisory sessions focused on developing practical and professional skills and promoting a culture of continuous learning.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has organized “Waad” forums in the Northern Borders Province, the Eastern Province, Makkah, and Jazan, in addition to the Najran and Hail forums. These engagements reflect the level of community interaction and the growing confidence in “Waad” as a leading national initiative in the field of training and qualification.
These forums have resulted in the delivery of more than 75 specialized training workshops across diverse fields aligned with labor market needs, with the participation of 72 entities from various sectors. The number of visitors exceeded 17,500, alongside the provision of advisory and guidance sessions that supported beneficiaries in identifying their career paths and enhancing their job readiness.
These outcomes demonstrate the impact achieved by the campaign, with the number of trainees benefiting from “Waad” programs to date exceeding 2.8 million across different provinces of the Kingdom. This reflects the accelerating pace of implementation and the expanding scope of partnerships. The campaign aims to reach 4 million trainees by 2028, thereby enhancing the alignment of training outputs with labor market needs and supporting the empowerment of national talent to compete in promising sectors.
This continued expansion underscores the Ministry’s commitment to building an integrated national training system that contributes to the development of human capital and strengthens the competitiveness of the national economy.
