Under the patronage of the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, His Excellency Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman AlRajhi, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development organized on Thursday, 30 April 2026, the fourth edition of the Cooperative Sector Awards Ceremony for 2025. The event was attended by His Excellency the Vice Minister for Social Development Sector, Mr. Badr bin Ibrahim Al-Suwailem, along with a number of senior ministry officials and staff, with the participation of government agencies, strategic partners, and stakeholders in the cooperative sector, at the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh.
The organization of this ceremony comes as an extension of the Ministry’s efforts to develop the cooperative sector system and enhance its position as one of the key drivers of economic and social development. This is achieved by fostering cooperative work environments and empowering high-impact initiatives that contribute to job creation and the promotion of economic sustainability within local communities, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The awards were categorized into several tracks, most notably: (the Distinguished Partner Award, Development Centers Awards, Outstanding Cooperatives Awards, and Projects Awards).
The ceremony showcased the cooperative sector’s most notable achievements over the past year, highlighting its progress in terms of growth, expansion, and developmental impact. It also featured the Ministry’s initiatives aimed at empowering cooperative associations and enhancing their sustainability, reflecting the sector’s transformation into an effective model in supporting the national economy and broadening the base of community participation. The ceremony further included the honoring of distinguished cooperative associations, in addition to recognizing partner entities that support the sector, in a model that reflects the integration of roles between the public and private sectors.
The ceremony serves as a national platform to highlight best practices and innovations within the cooperative sector, foster positive competition among cooperatives, and raise societal awareness of the sector’s importance and its role in achieving sustainable development, which enhances the efficiency of the cooperative system and improves the quality of its outcomes.
Through this initiative, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development reaffirms its continued support for the cooperative sector as one of the key enablers of development. This is achieved through the enhancement of regulatory frameworks, the expansion of partnerships, and the empowerment of cooperative entities to effectively fulfill their roles, thereby contributing to comprehensive economic and social development. It also strengthens the sustainability of developmental impact within society and positions cooperatives as a true partner in the nation’s development journey.
